Fun In The Sun!     St. Francis Invitational   September 16th, 2022

Something was different Friday night.  After a week of distractions, our mighty band of 8 girls ran well on Friday night at historic Cantigny.  Personally, for me, I had a lot of fun.  As a coach, we get our reward on Meet Day!  We get to see our team run and compete.  On a warm, almost Fall Day, that’s exactly what our team did!  While it wasn’t a clean sweep for PR’s, in was none the less, and exciting meet.  Part of the excitement was watching Simone Witort, and Diana Kalvelage complete their first race of the season!  However, our team of 12 strong was still missing Maggie Riley, Mary Kate Pinkelman, Olivia Weber, and Makenna Miller.  We are so looking forward to their return to competition!  All of our girls who competed brought home some hardware!  Maria Aldama (14), Mariella Flores (12), and Simone Witort (5), all earned a medal in the F/S Race!.  Lauren Price (4), Diana Kalvelage (7), Taylor Koenig (8), Madelyn Weber (25), and Ava Benes (30) made it a clean sweep on the Varsity!  Posting PRs were

Madelyn Weber, Ava Benes, Diana Kalvelage and Simone Witort!  Medelyn Weber showed the greatest season improvement by taking 2:39 seconds off of her previous seasons best!  That makes Madelyn our Raider of the Meet!  Congratulations!   Next week we run at Midlothian Meadows at the Tolefree/Farley Invitational!
