District 87/Tempo Run

District 87 (Glenbard North, Glenbard East, Glenbard South)

It was a warm and humid day at Camera Park on Tuesday, September 8th. There are times when we "work" through a meet and not necessarily "race." This was one of those times. The Girls were instructed to do a "Tempo" run and we accomplished the mission. What we learned is that many of our girls are just starting to learn how to run. This was the perfect meet for practice. Often, a Tempo run is about a minute to 90 seconds slower than the athletes best mile. By looking at results, we are encouraged. While it's tough to establish personal records, there were many strong performances from our Running Raiders. Some highlights included Alyssa Flores, Abby Schlenker, Ava Childs, Julia Clingen, and Emma Johnson. Next up is Peoria, First To The Finish on Saturday!
