FTTF and 700 Strong!

Congratulations to Hanna Johnson for her Raider Of The Meet performance!  The weather was near perfect we competed on Saturday, September 12th @ Detweiler Park in Peoria.  We were amazed at the sheer number of athletes competing in the 2A race as I believe the numbers topped 700!  Leading the Raiders was Courtney Knight who turned in a career best 19:54!  Two freshman, Elizabeth Cizek and Gisela Hagedorn broke into the Varsity Top Seven finishing 5th and 6th for the Raiders.  While we didn't finish well as a team, we had several PR's and overall great performances.  In retrospect, we needed to get out at the mile and into the race because the sheer volume of competitors made it nearly impossible to make up ground!  With that said, we'll make the adjustment and get ready for Naperville.  Overall, the coaches are pleased with our progress and look forward to having our full team compete in the near future.  By the way, the lunch stop should continue in the future.........
