Tough Course, Tough Girls!

On a day that was warm and humid with threats of a thunderstorm, The Raiders came ready to run.  On a Cantigny course that is a bit longer and traditionally slow, the Raider Girls turned in 10 personal records.  It was also a day of hardware - the entire Frosh/Soph team earned medals! Not to be outdone, the Varsity also had 9 medal winners!  The F/S team was led by F/S Champion Gisela Hagedorn who cruised to an impressive victory.  Angel Avila, Ali Salt, Bianca Montenegro, and Fay Kay rounded out the F/S Top 5!  At the Varsity Level, the Raiders were led by Abby Schlenker who finished 2nd overall and Courtney Knight, 4th place.  Rounding out the Top 5 were Alyssa Flores, Katie King, and Cassidy Shirley!  The Raiders are off next week and then come back on October 1st at the Wheaton Academy Invite.  This might be a sneak peak at what is to come over the final weeks of the season as several teams, including Montini, ACC, and Wheaton Academy are ranked ahead of our Raiders.  This will also give us a chance to see the top ranked Class 2A Team from Belvidere North run!  Sometimes it comes down to who wants it more.  It's time to decide Raiders!   Raiders Of The Meet - Allison Wescott and Myranda Pregel!
