Don't blink! You Might Miss The Raiders!

It was an interesting day for the Raider Girls as the weather was threatening.  The forecast called for thunder storms but all we had was rain, for at least the Open Race!  The Varsity started it off while it was cool and overcast. The course was wet but they were ready to go.  We had no idea how ready they were.  Finishing 3rd overall, the Raiders turned in their performance of the season. While it's hard to compare course to course, we can compare their times this year to last year. It was a huge improvement fo the following returners- Abby Schlenker (-47 sec), Ava Childs (-52 Sec), Courtney Knight (-18 sec), Alyssa Flores (-43 sec), Gisela Hagedorn (-1:59 sec), Julia Clingen (-1:53 sec), and Emma Johnson (-1:00 sec.) Mikayla Jacoby (-1:52 sec) and Sophie Nelson (-10 sec) were the only returnees in the open race and both are ahead of last year!  In addition, Ava, Alyssa, Julia, Emma J., Mikayla, and Sophie all ran faster than their conference meet times, held 2 weeks later on the same course!  Girls turning in season PR's included the above mentioned girls plus Ali Salt, Angel Avila, Bianca Montenegro, Fay Kay, Kendall Arlasky, Shayan Malik, Allsion Wescott, and Emma Guiot!  Are we there yet?  Not quite.  Wheaton Academy finished just ahead of us and ACC just behind. Looming in 2 weeks is a much improved Riverside Brookfield team.......and we thought last year was exciting. Remember girls, We are the Reigning and Defending Champions.  It's not time to crown a new Conference Champion yet!
